What do we believe?
We believe that God created the universe and all that is in it. God gave us the 10 Commandments to follow and instructions on how to live our lives. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to live a sinless life with sinners, to teach all about God, how to become born again and how to live according to God's word. Jesus was then crucified for our sins so that He could offer salvation, a chance to be born again to any who believe in Him and repent of their sin.
What does it mean to be born again?
To be born again, means to invite Jesus into your heart, to have a personal relationship with Him and to repent (turn away) from your sins . Jesus offers complete forgiveness for your sins. Jesus does not hold grudges or remember what you did wrong when you repent of your sins, Jesus wipes your slate clean and welcomes you with open arms. God has given us the Bible to act as an instruction manual and a way to guide us along our walk with Jesus Christ. God's law, the 10 Commandments, are the rules we are to live by. We need to learn what they mean and how we are to follow them.
Galatians 2:20 - "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Why do you need to be born again?
Without Jesus Christ we have no future. We are sinners by nature and cannot atone for our sins alone. That is why God sent His Son to die for our sins. With Jesus we have a future. We believe that asking Jesus to come into your heart and forgive you of your sins is how to begin having a personal relationship with Jesus and that it is the key to Heaven, God's Kingdom.
John 3:3 - states Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
What is sin?
Sin is the violation or breaking of the law.
1 John 3:4 - Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Why do I need to repent?
Because if you were to die today and you had not repented of your sins, and refused to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior you would go to Hell?
Proverbs 28:13 - He that covers his sins shall not prosper, but whoso confesses and forsakes them [repents] shall have mercy.
Luke 15:10 - Jesus said, "that there was joy in heaven over one sinner who repents"
Some picture Hell as fun, hedonistic, pleasure-filled place where one can engage in all sensual sins that are forbidden here. Hell is not so bad, right?
Here are some passages about the description of Hell, you decide if it is where you want to stay there forever:
Daniel 12:2 - Shame and everlasting contempt
Matthew 25:46 - Everlasting punishment
Matthew 24:51 - Weeping and gnashing of teeth
Luke 3:17 - Fire unquenchable
Romans 2:8,9 - Indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish
1Thessalonians 1:9 - Everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord
Revelation 14:10,11 - He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone... the smoke of their torment ascended up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day or night
I am a good person, Why do I need to be born again?
Let's take a quick test...
So your a good person, right?
Have you ever told a lie? What does that make you? It makes you a liar, there is no different shape or size when it comes to false witness, a lie is a lie.
Have you ever stolen anything? What does that make you? It makes you a thief, it does not matter how big or small the item was or how old you were, your still a thief.
How about cursing? Ever taken the Lord's name in Vain? Using God or any other name for God in a curse word is called Blasphemy.
So assuming you are honest with yourself and agree with these questions you are admitting you are a liar, a thief and a blasphemer, we have only looked at three of the 10 Commandments, if God judges you by the Ten Commandments, will you be innocent or guilty?
I don't want to go to Hell, how do I get right with God?
“DEAR GOD, I have sinned against You by breaking Your Commandments. Despite the conscience You gave me, I have looked with lust and therefore committed adultery in my heart. I have lied, stolen, failed to love You, failed to love my neighbor as myself, and failed to keep the Sabbath holy. I have been covetous, harbored hatred in my heart and therefore been guilty of murder in Your sight. I have used Your holy name in vain, have made a god to suit myself, and because of the nature of my sin, I have dishonored my parents. If I stood before You in Your burning holiness on Judgment Day, if every secret sin I have committed and every idle word I have spoken came out as evidence of my crimes against You, I would be utterly guilty, and justly deserve hell. I am unspeakably thankful that Jesus took my place by suffering and dying on the cross. He was bruised for my iniquities. He paid my fine so that I could leave the courtroom. He revealed how much You love me. I believe that He then rose from the dead (according to the Scriptures). I now confess and forsake my sin and yield myself to Him to be my Lord and Savior. I will no longer live for myself. I present my body, soul, and spirit to You as a living sacrifice, to serve You in the furtherance of Your Kingdom. I will read Your Word daily and obey what I read. It is solely because of Calvary’s cross that I will live forever. I am eternally Yours. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
What do I do now, if I prayed the above prayer?
If you prayed the above prayer of repentance and salvation with sincerity, you are now born again, you have been saved by Gods grace and given eternal life. God has washed you clean of your sins. The Bible tells us that your eternal salvation is secure. Get yourself a Bible and read it daily and trust in His Word.
